Hello I recently stumbled across a vintage style mec humbucker. They sell them on the Warwick website so naturally that was the first place I turned to try and figure out the wiring but after days of searching I give up so I thought I'd try a follow up here. The pickup itself has a coated wire that surrounds 5 smaller coloured wire bundles. One white, one black, one green, one red, and one bare . Just from a little bit of assuming would I be correct in saying that the white and the bare would be the ground, and so I could connect the black and green together and use my red as the hot wire? If anybody knows for sure and could back me up or point me in the right direction I'd appreciate it greatly.
